Rails and Squares is a variation of the traditional Rail fence Block.

For a 50" x 50" quilt, you will need:

1 light fabric - 1 1/4 yard

1 medium fabric - 5/8 yard

1 dark fabric - 1 1/2 yard

About 10-inches of the finished quilt will be the border, which you will choose later. Amounts of fabrics you will need for the border depend on your personal creativity. Consider multiple borders, patchwork, or both.
