How it came about and what you need

As mother of three sons, suiting them up for creative activities came naturally. And when I added my sister Suki's three daughters and two sons, it became a necessity. That was a while ago, of course, but today Suki is a grandmother of nine and I of one so the pattern hasn't grown moss around here.

Our kids originally inspired this pattern but it has also been the source of many a birthday and holiday gift. And practically speaking, at least you always know where the crayons are.

Fabric, etc. :

1/2 yard of fabric, or two fat quarters for apron

1/8 yard of fabric for crayon pocket, cut two, 4 by 15-inches

1-1/2 yard cording or ribbon for neck loop and ties

Two 18-inch squares of batting (recommend pellon fleece, Hobbs Craft Batt or Heirloom-regular or fusible)

One set of jumbo crayons

One children's safety scissors (optional)

(Use even-feed foot and 1/4-inch seam allowance to make your crayon aprons.)
