"Della Meets Perry on the Courthouse Steps" is the first in a series of "How Done it's" by Jan Krueger. "How Done It's" contain mysterious methods, pieceful plots and surprise endings. They incorporate the teachings and attitudes of Mary Ellen Hopkins who has been Jan's inspiration for a quarter of a century.

Lap size, 34 by 42 inches/twelve 7 1/2 inch blocks

Of course you can enlarge this quilt to any size you desire. Add more variety of fabric to your strips and create as many center varieties as you need

Courthouse Center:

Four different fabrics, 1/4 yard each. suggest two lights and two darks.

Variety of 1 1/4-inch cut strips to total 1/2 yard each, both lights and darks.

Clue: be sure to include medium fabrics among your choices.

Courthouse Borders:

Fourteen 1 1/4-inch strips from one color family but different fabrics.

Fourteen 1 1/4-inch strips of a second color family; different strips or a large print, cut up.
